About

EMBY’s yard is a brand new hip hop/soul event created in Manchester by EMBY.

Inspired by curations such as tiny desk, chamomile club and Nine8 collective, EMBYS yard brings together a fresh space to hear new music in an environment somewhat different to the live spaces we are accustomed to. In defiance to unilateral shows, with a one way exchange, EMBYS yard represents a space just like your living room where everyone feels comfortable to meet, laugh, share, network and engage with the performances in a way that feels like a natural exchange.

EMBY’s yard is your living room, garage, attic, tent, caravan, kitchen table…. Wherever the family are, that’s the yard.

EMBY

Now based in Manchester following a relocation from Belfast, EMBY has connected and performed with artists such as Henzo, Bake, Chunky (SWAMP81), DJ Oblig, Charlieboymanson and more across iconic venues The White Hotel, SOUP and Stage & Radio.

Usually known for taking the mic alongside DJs to shell up the house, EMBY has migrated to new sounds echoing his adoration for a new wave of rap pioneered by rappers such as Boldy James and Mavi.

With instrumentals from across the spectrum from smooth soul samples to blippy Sophie-esque beats - coupled either EMBYs writing style - you will be taken through a world of emotion as the London born artist tells you his story. Moulding the worlds of R&B, neo-soul, grime and hip-hop, EMBY’s voice is a distinct one within a sea of the same.

A flurry of standout performances have seen EMBY perform at AVA Festival, Other Voices, All together now, Maida Vale and taking the stage for BBC Introducing at Reading & Leeds on lineups featuring Jelani Blackman and loyle Carner.

CURTISY

Curtisy is one of the hottest rappers coming out of Ireland right now. hailing from Jobstown, Tallaght in Co.Dublin, Curtisy’s slow delivery and witty punchlines are visceral enough to transport the listener to Curtisys sitting room with a can of cheap lager and a nicely built zoot ready for ingestion. Equipped with a discography featuring some of Dublins greatest talents including names such as Ahmed, with Love and Kojaque, there is no stopping this Tallaght native as he claws his way to Irish Hip Hop Royalty. Curtisys Debut Album “What Was The Question?” Will be released on May 3rd on all streaming platforms, make sure to save the date.

Rudeteeth

Hailing from Belfast, Manchester based rapper Rudeteeth is really one to watch. With a flow and tone that feels unique to only him coupled with a slew of witty well chosen lyrics, the Irish native will have you locked in from the jump. With recent releases going viral on social media, the only way is up for this cheeky artist who will entrance you with his energy.

Beatrice

Also from Belfast, Beatrice is a soul and jazz singer who’s recently moved to Manchester.

Influenced by a wide range of singers, from old school Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James to new artists such as Cleo Soul and Jorja Smith.

Currently working on her album with David Holmes, Beatrice will transport you to jazz club nostalgia with amazing voice and smooth delivery.
