Reports suggest that chef Marcus Wareing has parted company with Gordon Ramsey and will run Petrus, one of the best restaurants in London, on his own.

It is believed that Mr Wareing will take on the lease on the site inside the Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge in September, when Gordon Ramsey's contract expires.

Mr Wareing has run Petrus for the F Word star since it opened in 2003 and his cooking has helped it gain a reputation as one of the best French restaurants in London.

Recently, it gained a second Michelin rosette. However, rumours have been circulating that Ramsey was set to split from long-time lieutenant Marcus Wareing.

Currently, dishes on the menu at Petrus including things like tuna ballottine with spiced baby pineapple, marinated mooli, cardamom and mint, Norfolk suckling pig cooked for twenty four hours and braised Scottish halibut served with charred English asparagus.

A set lunch costs £35 and the famous tasting menu offers eight courses for £90.ADNFCR-1603-ID-18611838-ADNFCR
