Welsh songstress Duffy has announced that she will play two nights in Manchester later this year as part of a national winter tour.

The singer - who stormed into the mainstream scene at the start of 2008 with her debut single Mercy - will play the city's grand Apollo venue on November 29th and 30th.

Duffy - whose full name is Aimee Anne Duffy - will play a total of nine shows around the UK this winter, starting in Leeds in November 28th and including gigs in Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Newport, before ending the jaunt with a two-night stay at Brixton Academy in London, on December 8th and 9th.

Recently, Sir Tom Jones apparently revealed that he would love to duet with Duffy at some stage in the future.

The 68-year-old legend believes that Duffy has "something special" and would like to work with her on future projects.
