Manchester celebrity haunt set to expand

One of the hottest celebrity bars in Manchester has announced that is to expand in to the wealthy Cheshire countryside.

Panacea - a restaurant which has attracted the likes of Jordan, David and Victoria Beckham and many of the Manchester United football team - is to expand into the footballer's haven of Alderley Edge.

The small town - 15 miles south of Manchester - will have a new £3 million bar and restaurant open later this summer, with the split-level venue being able to seat 100 guests at the restaurant at a time.

A statement from Panacea said: "Our new venue is scheduled to open this summer, but the exact details are being kept under wraps for the time being. We can tell you that you should expect more of the same great food, cocktails and ambience that you have come to enjoy over the last three years."

Panacea has previously been named Bar of the Year at the Manchester Tourism Awards 2006.
