Gyms, Shops & Big Brother Tops - Blog 2

I started today in the gym. At a riduculous hour, but boy did I feel brilliant for it. For a short while, then my pain started to kick in in the top of my legs and that was about that. I will however be returning at some point tommorrow. I've been threatening to go to the gym for a long time until eventually myself and the lovely emma managed to sign up for a joint membership, which means I have to go, because it's costing me money just thinking about going.

For those that don't know, Emma is my fionce, we got enagaged at The Wickerman Festival 2007 after getting together at Wickerman Festival 2006. We had known each other 12 years previous to that, but it took us that long to get together. I'm very happy to be marrying her next April, so a joint gym membership was just one of those things that was going to happen eventually. It's hard work setting up for the festival and i'm always the one that appears the weakest when it comes to lifting speakers and what not.

That's generally because I am the weakest as everyone else knew what a gym was when they were 16 and eats 6 loaves of bread a week topped with protein fuelled nutella or something. I make up for it in the brains and beauty stakes, certainly where the Wickerman is involved anyway.

So today all the plans of getting everything packed up went out of the window as the phone was SO busy with ticket queries and sales. Skiddle is a small but rock solid team and with the switchboard jammed at certain times of the day, it shows when we handle it so well. There is always a lot of energy in the office, and lots of exciting things happening, today there was too much happening and perhaps not enough being done.

The workshop is an absolute mess from yesterday's painting fun with everything scattered everywhere, it's scary to think that on Friday I will be on my way to Carlisle, Saturday I will be on site and Monday I will be panicking about something!

I've just got back from the Trafford Centre really. Every event I always seem to leave looking after myself until last which normally means my packing skills aren't exactly superb and I have a lot of old smelly clothes.

Today we have new t-shirts, one of which I loved until I was informed that Mario from Big Brother wore the same shirt. I have no idea who he is, but it put a slight dampener on matters in my other what perfect t-shirt experience. Emma got a WICKED hoodie top for the fest, most of the time I come away from any clothes shopping experience a tad dissapointed but tonight was definately a winner.

Apart from Debenhams charging £25 for a straw hat. Yes that's twenty five quid for a bit of straw! The hat quest continues. I'd really like a accountants visor for the weekend if anyone has any suggestions then post away below!

Tommorrow we announce the winner of our DJ competition for the skiddle.com showcase arena, it is always a pleasure to show off new talent that has featured on www.skiddle.com/dj - we get to listen to a lot of good talent so it's fantastic to be able to give someone an oppurtunity every now and then.

Enough now, it is 11pm and bed awaits, early start again tommorrow. I have put the photos of my new festival tshirts online if anyone is interested ;o)
