Reading and Leeds festivals are set to incorporate the latest talented bands brought forward through a competition being run by the BBC.

The Introducing Stage will aim to showcase some of the UK's brightest new talents, who have been specially selected by a panel of experts via a series of shows previously hosted around the country.

Unsigned and undiscovered acts are hoping to make an impression and be launched into relative stardom by way of the Introducing Stage that will host performances in Leeds and Reading as the pair of festivals get underway on August 22nd.

"Reading and Leeds is the festival for new music and so to have Introducing there is very exciting," said Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens.

"The line-up for the stage offers a whole load of new talent and compliments the array of new artists playing."

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Reading and Leeds festivals and more than 150 acts are expected to perform over the course of the three day event.ADNFCR-1603-ID-18715866-ADNFCR
