Re: Any vinyl buyers still out there? Me when i have the fundage...usually htfr.com but they're bloody crap...i paid for Born Slippy 4 years agao..then got told it was on back order...still waiting for the bloody thing. Plus been on a wishlist for certain records for 4 years..get a message that you are finally 1st on the list..then the record is in stock..pay for the eagerly anticipated record...to get a message that ITS ON FOOKING BACK ORDER/OUT OF STOCK!!!!! And apparently..even if you've been on a list for 4 years, made it to number one PAID FOR IT...if some muppet comes in the shop when it's in, and asks for it...they cann BUY IT there and then!!!!! try juno records lol

Re: Any vinyl buyers still out there? Has your financial situation changed much since you bought CDJ's? I don't really buy house on vinyl anymore because the whole scene has deserted the format whereas a lot of the scene leaders in the d'N'b and dubstep world still use it as it's part of the culture of bass music.

Re: Any vinyl buyers still out there? I wouldn't say it has changed much, But I am a tight bastard, I can't handle buying a tune for £6-£10, only for it to come out on downlad for £1.99 a couple of weeks later. Its not like I have loads of gigs lined up, and need new tunes all the time, that would be nice though:)

Re: Any vinyl buyers still out there? The only house music I buy on vinyl are the releases on Innervisions and occasionally something I like so much I want to own a physical copy of it, for example, the Frankie Knuckles mix of 'Blind' by Hercules & Love Affair. I still love collecting vinyl and it's something I'll continue to do for all kinds of music as I really don't see it disappearing completely; it's even on the increase in some cases.

Re: Any vinyl buyers still out there? Gonna get rid of my decks once I've put my favourite records onto mp3, tho I'll probably still keep hold of few choice cuts. That'll be me out of the vinyl buying game then. Shame, cos I love the smell of new, fresh vinyl!

Re: Any vinyl buyers still out there? I think I've spent about £100 this week alone on records. Got myself an amazing Greg Wilson mash-up of Imagination - 'Just an Illusion/Missy Elliot 'Work it' and an Ashford & Simpson Warner Years 5x12" boxset. Bought a lot of Dubstep (including a killer tune that samples the Beatles 'Eleanor Rigby), a couple of D&B tunes and I'm still waiting for some 7"s to arrive from Rough Trade. I've got all of that and my cart is looking pretty full on Beatport at the minute as well, but the one good thing about download sites is that the tunes will always be available instead of selling out like they do in record shops.

Re: Any vinyl buyers still out there? still buy vinyl now and again, mainly stuff thats really old and hard to track down that i want to keep, the main problem i think is more and more small clubs and venues are opening that dont have the correct dj stands for technics turntables, most are make shift events and cheply found venues Most places i play now dont even have decks there at all just cdj's. played at sankeys and area 51 recently and neither had decks i reckon in another year or so vinyl will be a thing of the past, apart from big dj's like zabiela loco dice who specifically request them we're nearly onto the question will laptops and abelton live replace cdj's in the near future. ???

Re: Any vinyl buyers still out there? Vinyl is just too expensive and, as was mentioned, house is about 90% digital these days. I have bought a couple of old 90's things off ebay. Also this the other week from juno http://www.juno.co.uk/products/330934-01.htm ;)

Re: Any vinyl buyers still out there? I've just searched google for stories about vinyl and there are loads of them reporting the sudden increase in sales over the past couple of years. It may not in dance music circles but I'm glad there is a new market emerging in vinyl sales so I can carry on collecting it.
