Carlisle Venues

Just having a little think about what venues there are actually are for nights, and the pro's and cons of each...

Brickyard - Capacity 300ish? 2 Rooms, main one, and very small 2nd one. 2/3am finishes, tho Late Licence x times a year. Plenty of Sound Equipment available?

Concrete - Capacity? 2 Rooms, 2nd one decent enough size. 3/4am finishes? Full-time Bar Staff etc. Proper DJ Booths. More of a standard 'nightclub'

Spirit - Capacity 200ish, 2 Floors split evenly number wise, good for 2 rooms do's, each floor different (1 more Bar, other more Clubby). Sound Equip a minus, usually hired in.

Source Cafe - Capacity? Admit I know little on this place, tho see a few things advertised. More 'experimental' if thats the word.

Botchegate - Won't even mention lol!!!

As for Music Types, well Brickyard is Gigs/DnB in various guises. Concrete more an established Nightclub. Spiritis Indie/Dance, esp Retro type. Source is more intimate.

Any views?

Re: Carlisle Venues

I havent been in the brickyard for a very long time but if my memory serves me correctly i have no idea how that second room can be classed as a room. It always made me laugh when it was a pool room that you couldnt get your cue round.

I always enjoy spirit when im in, though upstairs always seems far too loud. I like the layout though, works for me.

Re: Carlisle Venues

The pool room in the Brickyard has had a little bit of work done to it and there's now more space.
